Viet Nguyen is a PhD candidate in Computing and Information Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is working with Dr. Reynold Bailey in the Computer Graphics & Applied Perception Lab and Dr. Alexander G. Ororbia in the Neural Adaptive Computing Lab. His research spans machine learning, computer vision, eye tracking, reinforcement learning, and robotics. His PhD dissertation focuses on using active inference and model-based reinforcement learning to develop autonomous robotic systems that incorporate human perception and actions as integral components. Viet aims to publish at top-tier conferences like AAAI, ICRA, ICML, and CVPR, with two publications already in AAAI. He’s also serving as the publicity chair for PerCom 2024 (IEEE), contributing to academic collaboration.
